Over the past 145 years, we’ve become a national leader in preparing oral health professionals, conducting innovative research that has an impact on patients and the profession, and providing patient-centered care.
We’re located on the IU Indianapolis campus in downtown Indianapolis, in close proximity to the IU School of Medicine, the IU School of Nursing, the IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, several major hospitals, and the Roudebush VA Medical Center.

It’s the middle of winter and Indiana University football is still playing—and winning—meaningful games. The Hoosiers secured their first bowl win since December 31, 1991, with a blowout win over the vaunted Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl, setting the stage for a Big Ten bash against Oregon in the Peach Bowl.
Dental hygiene graduates dazzle
Twenty dental hygiene graduates and their supporters braved the winter weather on Saturday, December 13, 2025, to attend the Dental Hygiene Recognition Event at the IU Indianapolis Campus Center Theater. The event featured many notable speakers from IUSD, including, among others, Dean Carol Anne Murdoch-Kinch and Dental Hygiene Program Director Professor Twyla Rader.
Associate dean spotlight: Dental Informatics and Digital Health
Technology has grown at an exponential pace this century, with information technology (IT) in dentistry following suit. Indiana University School of Dentistry’s (IUSD) Office of Dental Informatics and Digital Health (ODIDH), led by Dr. Thankam Thyvalikakath, associate dean, keeps IUSD on the cutting edge.
